Connecticut State Police Arrest Wrong-Way Driver, Causes Collision on RT 8 Northbound in Shelton, for DUI

On 08/28/2024 at approximately 1:25 AM, Troopers assigned to Troop I in Bethany responded to RT 8 Northbound in the area of exit 12 for a reported wrong-way driver traveling Southbound in the Northbound travel lanes. As Troopers were responding to that area, they were advised that the wrong-way driver had collided with another vehicle head-on.

At the scene, Troopers identified the wrong-way driver as Andrea Lynn Marseglia (DOB 09/11/1984), of Orange, who was the operator of a White Lexus IS250. The adult driver and juvenile passenger of the other vehicle were transported to an area hospital for evaluation for suspected non-life threatening injuries.

During the on-scene investigation, it was determined that Marseglia was exhibiting signs of impairment. Marseglia willingly performed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which she ultimately did not perform to standard.
