Connecticut State Police Arrest Litchfield Store Clerk on Child-Sex Charges After an Investigation Involving Minors

On 01/13/2024, personnel assigned to Troop L responded to an address on Norfolk Road, Litchfield regarding an alleged incident at the Citgo gas station, located at 199 West Street, in Litchfield.

 Based upon information obtained during the extensive investigation that followed, an arrest warrant for Monir Uddin, DOB: 03/05/77, of Brooklyn, New York, was applied for and granted.

 On 04/20/2024, after learning of the active warrant for his arrest, Monir Uddin turned himself in at Troop L, where he was taken into custody, processed, and charged with the following violations: 

 C.G.S. 53a-83b(a)(1), Commercial Sexual Abuse of a Minor – 3 counts

C.G.S. 53-21(a)(2)*, Illegal Sexual Contact of a Minor – 3 counts

C.G.S. 53-21(a)(1), Risk of Injury to a Child – 3 counts

C.G.S. 53a-73a, Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree – 3 counts

C.G.S. 53a-96, Unlawful Restraint in the Second Degree – 3 counts

C.G.S. 53-344(b), Illegal Sale of Tobacco to a Minor – 3 counts

 Uddin was held on a $85,000 court-set bond and subsequently transferred to the custody of the CT Department of Correction, pending his arraignment at Torrington Superior Court, on 04/22/2024.
