Florida Highway Patrol Seeking Suspects in I-4 Road Rage Shooting in Volusia County

On January 31, 2024, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office notified the Florida Highway Patrol of a shooting that
occurred at approximately 8:47 P.M. in the eastbound lanes of I-4 near mile marker 112 in Deltona, Volusia County.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that the victim’s vehicle (silver 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class) was traveling eastbound on I-4 in the inside lane. The suspect vehicle (unknown black SUV or Pick-Up Truck) was traveling behind the victim’s vehicle flashing their high-beam lights. The victim’s vehicle
changed lanes from the inside lane to the center lane. The suspect then fired one round at the victim’s
vehicle. The bullet struck the driver’s window. The bullet continued and struck the driver (61-year-old male from Tennessee) and passenger (19-year-old male from Tennessee). Both victims were transported to HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
